Location

The Chalet is located in the resort of Veľká Rača in the village of Oščadnica which is 32km away from Žilina.

The village is the longest in Slovakia. the centre of the village is about 2km from the chalet.

The Chalet is a 3-5 minute walk from the main village road.

A ski bus runs along the main village road every 10 minutes so there is no need for a car to the slopes. There are shops and restaurants within walking distance

However you would need a car to get to Čadca or Žilina.

Getting There

There are several cheap airlines, including RyanAir and Sky Europe flying from Luton and Stansted to Bratislava which is approximately 230 km to the resort by car. Since the opening of the new motorway this journey can be made in as little as an 1h30 to 1h45.

It is possible to take a train from Bratislava to Žilina and then a taxi to the resort.

You now have the option to fly from London to Prague and on to Žilina airport with Czech Airlines. However whilst extremely convenient given the resort is just 32km away it is a more expensive option. This is however likely to change because Žilina Airport is rapidly expanding in accordance with the agreement made with the Kia company when Žilina won the contract to manufacture the cars. In essence an agreement was made that the airport would become an international one and then it may be possible to fly direct from the UK.

We will send you a detailed description of how to get, to the resort once you arrive in Žilina. Hire cars and taxis can be booked in Žilina.
